Posted at 2010/02/28 01:30 | Posted in 블로그 소개비스듬히 단체에서 오프라인으로 봉사활동에 다녀왔다. 필자는 인천외국어고등학교 2학년에 재학중인 고등학생이다. 앞서 SEAGULL분이 사진을 많이 올려주셔서 사진에 대한 설명은 충분하다고 생각한다. 필자도 봉사활동을 주변 친구들보다 많이 하는 편인데 이번 봉사활동은 진짜 순수한 봉.사였던 것같다. 평소에 온라인에서 활발히 활동하는 선배들과 친구들이 모두 홍제역에서 모였다. 장소는 홍은종합사회복지관. 매일 온라인으로 활발히 활동하는 친구들과 선배들을 보니 정말 반가웠다. 모두 비스듬히에서뜻을 함께 하고 있는 학생들로 20명 이상 모이니 어느정도 단체의 모습을 갖춰가는 것 같았다.
다음은 비스듬히에 속해있는 친구 혹은 선배들의 활동 사진이다. 4번째 사진은 본인의 사진인데, 이는 식사배달 봉사활동을 하는 도중 찍은 사진이다. 2인 1조로 식사배달을 갔는데 너무도 구석지고 후미진 곳에 반지하에 집이 하나 있었다. 사람 하나도 통행하기 불편한 곳으로 이 곳은 주소가 없다고 한다. 문을 두드리고 잠시 후, 할아버지 한분의 목소리가 들렸다. 나는 도시락을 내려놓고 다 드신 도시락을 챙겼다. 이런 후미진 반지하에 할아버지 한 분이 살고 계시다니..믿기지 않았다. 불행히도 할아버지는 몸이 불편하신지 의자에 앉아계시고 움직이시지는 못하셨다. 단지 친구와 웃으며 음식을 배달하던 나로서는 굉장히 마음이 아팠다. 봉사할 때는 상대방을 진심으로 위하는 마음으로 봉사해야 한다는 것을 느낄수 있었다. 앞에 글에 설거지하는 비스듬히 회원들도 있는데 바지가 젖고 옷이 망가질 정도로 열심히 일하는 것을 보고 열심히 일해주신 우리 회원들께 정말 고마웠다.
나에게 봉사란?
여태까지 장애우 봉사캠프, 장애인과 축구하기, 어린이집 방문, 교내봉사 등 꽤 많은 봉사를 했지만 여태까지의 나로서는 봉사활동은 마음에서 우러나서 했다기보다는 필요에 의해서 어쩔 수 없이 해야 했던 부분이 없지 않아 있었던 것 같다.
몸으로 직접 뛰고 사람들과 교류했던 적은 이번이 처음일 것이다. 그만큼 내 몸은 조금은 지쳐있었지만 마음만은 쑥쑥 커가는 것을 느꼈다. 진정한 봉사정신은 이런 것이 아닐까? 단지 몇시간을 채웠다는 서류만을 남길 게 아니라, 우리 고등학생도 몇시간, 얼마나보다는 어떻게, 무슨마음으로 봉사에 임했는지 스스로에게 남기는 것이 더 중요한 봉사의 의의가 아닐까 생각한다.

아니 자기 주체적으로 봉사활동 해보신 적 있으신가요?
한다고 해도 어른들이 돈, 물품 다 대주고, 보통 본인은 가서 폼만 잡다가 오지 않나요?
그러면서 무거운거 몇개 옮겼다고 뿌듯해하고 있고 말이죠.
그럴때 회의를 한번도 느껴본적 없었나요?
그렇다고 더 의욕적으로 해보고 싶어도, 힘들다고 그만두고, 돈이 부족하다고 그만둔적 없나요?
그래서, 만들어진 단체가 있습니다.
환경 봉사활동 할때 피켓 스스로 만들어 보겠단 친구들이,
다문화 가정 가르칠때 교재좀 더 좋은거 써보겠단 친구들이,
외국인 진료 봉사할때 안내판 하나 만들어 주겠다는 친구들이,
모여서 자신의 생각을 글로 올리고, 그 과정에서 생기는 수익을 봉사하는데에 써보겠단 거죠.
바위에 계란을 던지는 심정으로 시작했습니다.
많은 사람들이 "너네가 뭘해" 라고 하며 우리를 얕보아도
"너네 왜 모였냐" 하며 우리의 순수성을 의심할때도
어차피 좋은일 언제해보겠어 하는 심정으로 꾸준히 왔습니다.
그래서
여기까지 왔습니다.
국내 최대 출판사인 민음사와 지속적인 협력 관계를 형성하게 되었고,
발행하는 오프라인 간행물도 이제 몇천부를 찍게 되었습니다.
아무의 도움없이 고등학생들이 운영하는 단체를
이제 많은 사람들과 회사들이 지켜보고 있습니다.
그러나 이제 시작입니다.
우리 단체가 초심을 벗어나지 않게 해줄 친구들이
더욱 더 멋진 단체로 발돋움 하게 해줄 친구들이 필요합니다.
더이상 우리가 뭘해가 아닌,
우리 스스로도 할 수 있어라는 생각을 가진 친구들의 많은 지원 바랍니다.
